TotalCare + Surgery is available starting June 22, 2026. How you get it depends on whether you're enrolling in a TotalCare plan for the first time or you already have one.
If You're New to TotalCare
Enrolling in TotalCare + Surgery works just like enrolling in any other TotalCare plan. You can get started through the GoodVets app, our website, or in person at your GoodVets hospital.
Via the GoodVets App
- Log in to the GoodVets app and look for the "Introducing a Wellness Plan" banner on your homepage, or go to your pet's profile and select Choose a Plan.
- On the Choose Your Plan page, review the available TotalCare plans and select TotalCare + Surgery.
- Confirm your pet's details, such as date of birth.
- Choose how you'd like to pay:
- Annual payment — pay the full cost upfront for the best savings
- Monthly payments through ScratchPay — split the cost over 12 months
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your purchase. Your plan will activate immediately once payment is processed.
Via the GoodVets Website
Visit the GoodVets website, go to the Wellness Plans page, log in to your account, and follow the steps to select TotalCare + Surgery and complete payment.
In Person at Your GoodVets Hospital
Talk to a member of your care team during your next visit, and they'll walk you through enrollment.
If You Already Have a TotalCare Plan
If you're already enrolled in a TotalCare plan and would like to add the surgical benefit, you can request an upgrade to TotalCare + Surgery:
- Reach out to our support team through the Help Center to request the upgrade.
- We'll review your current plan to see whether you're eligible for a partial refund based on how much of your plan you've already used.
- Your current plan will be replaced with a new 12-month TotalCare + Surgery plan, which you'll complete enrollment for in the GoodVets app once your request is processed.
A couple of things to know about upgrading:
- If you're eligible for a refund, it typically takes 3–5 business days to process.
- If you're on a monthly payment plan, you won't receive a refund when upgrading, since you haven't pre-paid for unused months.
- Upgrade requests are typically processed within a couple of business days.
